The territory of Dajt was populated long times ago. This is testified through a considerable number of objects and culture monuments of different periods of the history, from the Early Palaeolithic Period. Tools of that period were found at the foot of Dajt. The objects, that have been found, are mainly tools made of flint, mainly knives used for scratching and carving, with variable forms. In addition, some tools made of bones have been found, which were highly used back in those times, apart from the further perfecting of flint works. Even Dajt Castle testifies the continuation of the population of this area. Dajt Castle was declared a culture monument of the first category in 1963.
