“Lenin” Hydro-Power Plant
There are two small buildings flat of the Soviet Style in the village Lanabregas, which are not related at all with the architecture of the surrounding area. They have remained as a memory of the previous Albanian-Soviet friendship. Next to these buildings, which are strange for an Albanian village, there is a small hydro-power plant constructed by the Soviets in 1951.
This hydro-power plant constructed at the foot of Dajt Mountain, operates through the water that flows in the tubes in free fall. At that time, it was called “Vladimir Iliç Lenin” Hydro-Power Plant and it supplied with electricity the entire Old Tirana.
